I’m Melis Akkan, a collection consultant and fashion designer based in Istanbul, working across womenswear and menswear since 2018.

Fashion has never been only about aesthetics to me. Over time, I became more interested in the structure behind a collection; how products connect with each other, how a brand builds its identity, and how design turns into something people genuinely connect with.

Throughout the years, I’ve worked across woven and knit categories through different disciplines and product groups, gaining experience in creative development, technical processes, and production communication.

I work closely with brands to understand their vision and transform it into clear, cohesive collections with a strong sense of identity and direction.

My process combines creative direction with technical and production knowledge, covering collection planning, fabric direction, technical development, fit feedback, and production communication.

Having experience on both the creative and production side allows me to approach fashion with a wider perspective, balancing aesthetics, fit, market awareness, and the realities of production together.

I believe the strongest collections come from a clear point of view, where design, identity, and product direction work together naturally.
